Hey there! We are George and Rebecca Spangler and Turning Point has been birthed out of our vision to see God's Kingdom grow and to see the Church making a difference in the way we deal with our families, the way we serve and bless our communities, and the way we share God's goodness throughout the world. Here at Turning Point we reach up to God and out to others.

Origins
Connections
Turning Point Church is a member congregation of the Churches of God, General Conference located in Findlay Ohio. We are a part of about 140 church that make up the Eastern Regional Conference of the Churches of God.
Core Values
The Churches of God, General Conference upholds the Bible as its “only and all sufficient rule of faith and practice.” Hence its doctrine and ministry is rooted directly in scripture. The following ten core values that shape and mold the life of the church grow directly out of this priority focus upon God’s Word.
- We value obedience to Jesus Christ in all situations.
- We value each individual as one who matters to God.
- We value dependence on and confidence in God’s ability to do more than we ask or imagine; we are willing to take risks and expect God to surprise us.
- We value Christ honoring, culturally relevant worship.
- We value evangelistic outreach ministry to those who do not yet belong to Christ and the church.
- We value each believer growing in Christ likeness and serving in ministry based on their spiritual gifts.
- We value vital reproducing congregations.
- We value trained, committed and competent leaders (pastors and lay persons).
- We value Christian unity within a diverse body of faith.
- We value accountability among believers and congregations.
About our service
Meeting place: We meet at 201 E. Green Street (the Community Center) in Mechanicsburg, PA. Coffee, snacks and fellowship begins at 10:00 AM. Information on any current or upcoming events is available on tables in the fellowship area. The worship service begins at 10:30.
Live Stream: Our service is live streamed on YouTube, and you can find the link on the "livestream" page. The worship guide is available for download and there is a link where you can download 'guide inserts' containing information on special events.
Communion: At TPC, we share in The Lord's Supper throughout the year as part of our worship service. Communion is a celebration and memorial of Jesus' suffering, death, burial, and resurrection, and eventual return. It commemorates the reasons that we gather. All Christians are invited to share the Lord's Supper, and you do not need to be a member of TPC to participate in communion. Please take a cup and pass the tray, then we as a group will share in the Lords' blood. Likewise, take a piece of bread, pass the basket and the Pastor will lead us in sharing the Lord's body.
Offerings and church finances: Each week, regular attendees financially contribute to TPC. We believe that generosity is a basic Christian value. The honor of giving is a means through which we bless God and He in turn blesses His people and His church. Through these offerings our church family supports local and global ministries, like our food pantry and Feed My Starving Children, our Community Hub at Finkenbinder Park where we host children and adult ministries, community outreach events and meeting spaces, and our staff office. If you are new here or a guest, please do not feel obligated to financially contribute during offering time.
We believe:
- We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
- We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – one in essence and community.
- We believe in God the Father, the almighty Creator of heaven and earth.
- We believe that Jesus Christ our Lord is the Word made flesh – fully God and fully man. We believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died and was buried, rose again on the third day, and ascended into heaven.
- We believe in the divinity of the Holy Spirit, who indwells the believer. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, enables the believer to live a holy life, comforts, teaches, and bestows spiritual gifts.
- We believe humanity is created in the image of God, has fallen into sin, and can be born again by the Spirit, justified freely by grace, and saved through the atoning work of Jesus Christ alone.
- We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, the people of God, whose mission is to make disciples of all nations and to be salt and light in the world.
- We believe baptism, the Lord’s supper, and feet washing to be ordinances of the Church.
- We believe in the return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, everlasting life, and the new heavens and new earth.
